[Bangkok 7] Boat trip on the Chaophraya River

The Menam Chao Phraya (Chao Phraya river), you'll see a lot of boats come and go.

The view of the Chao Phraya river. A lot of boats come and go.
The Chao Phraya begins at the confluence of the Ping and Nan rivers at Nakhon Sawan in Nakhon Sawan province. It runs through Bangkok, the capital city, and then empties into the Gulf of Thailand.
Cities along the Chao Phraya include Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Bangkok and Samut Prakan, listed from north to south.

The Tha Chin River is the major distributary of the Chao Phraya River. The expanse of the Chao Phraya and Tha Chin Rivers and their distributaries, starting at the point at which the distributaries diverge, together with the land amid the triangle formed by the outermost and innermost distributary, form the Chao Phraya Delta. The many distributaries of the Chao Phraya delta are interconnected by canals that serve both for irrigation and for transportation.

Tha Chang Wan Luang Pier

I went around by boat from Tha Chang Wan Luang Pier.
"Tha Chang Wang Luang" Or "Tha Phra", during the reign of king Rama I of the Rattanakosin period, was the main city gate and it was the area that elephants (chang) were brought from the royal palace (wang luang) to take baths. Therefore, it was known as " Tha Chang Wang Luang" (Pier for elephants from the royal palace).

[Bangkok 7] Wat Rakhang

A lot of bells. Visitors toll the bells one by one.
Wat Rakhang (Temple of the Bells) - Wat Rakhang Khositaram Woramahawiharn, was initially called "Wat Bang Wa Yai" and was built during the Ayutthaya period (1351-1767). It's located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkoknoi district, facing the Grand Palace.

In 1769, the temple was appointed to be a second-class royal temple by King Taksin The Great of the Thonburi Kingdom (1767-1782), and Phra Tripitaka (Buddhist Scriptures) was brought from Nakhon Si Thammarat province and a Buddhist council was held to revise it.

The temple was rebuilt during the reign of King Rama I (1782 - 1809) at the end of the 18th century, and a large bell was found during some construction at the temple. The bell was moved to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and instead, five smaller bells were donated to the temple. This is why the temple is called Wat Rakhang (Temple of the Bells).
There is a library (or Ho Trai in Thai) where Buddhist Scriptures are kept and that was once the residence of King Rama I before he was crowned.

[Bangkok 7] Wat Kanlayanamit

Wat Kanlayanamit, influenced by Chinese architecture, is a second class royal temple, situated on the mouth of Bangkok Yai canal on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. This temple is one of the nine royal temples of Bangkok along with Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, Wat Arun,  and is for good friends or safe trips (Bon Voyage). You can visit the temple by boat.

At the beginning, Chao Phraya Nikhon Bodin (Toh Kalayanamit) donated his own residence and built a temple, and the temple became a royal temple in the reign of King Rama III in 1825 who gave the name "Wat Kanlayanamit" which means "Close Friend".
