The first time I visited Samui, it was in 2002 and I took a ferry to the
island. This time in 2009, I visited there by air.This airport is privately owned and operated by Bangkok Airways. I visited several airports in Thailand and not because this is an airport in south area but I'm sure this airport is top-class designed and is filled with a sense of release and relax.

| Wat Phra Yai is in the Northeast of Samui. This temple is famous for the golden Big Buddha, twelve meter tall smiling deity. You can see the Buddha from several kilometers away or even from the air when arriving on or leaving the island. |

| " Phra Apaimanee " is well-known old tale in Thailand, written
by a famous poet Sunthorn Phu (2329-2398 B.E, (1786-1855) ). These pictures shows the characters in
the story. " Phra Apaimanee " (or Apaimani) is the main character who plays flute very well and a prince. Attracted by the beauty of his flute playing, a demon changes herself into a human being and lives with Phra Apaimanee. They have a baby but Phra Apaimanee gets to know she is a demon and runs away from her. The second wife of him is a mermaid. In the end, the demon passes away by the power of the flute play. It looks like a sad story. (I heard that this story was made into a movie in Thailand.) |

| I joined a local tour. They took us to a monkey working place. The monkey climb up a tree and get a coconut. This is not only a show but they still get a coconut like this with a monkey. |
