[Bangkok etc 3] Wat Rai Khing

Wat Rai Khing is located in Nakhon Pathom, about one hour drive from Bangkok.
Japanese people or even tourists don't know well but it looks like this temple is very famous for Thai people.

By the way, a kind of cat fish, called " Plaa Sawai", live in the moat around the temple. You can enjoy feeding them.
Not only this temple but Thai people traditionally conserve creatures around temples.

Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple)

Scenery of an early morning in Bangkok on the way to the Marble Temple.
A lot of people were already ready to work. Take care. :)
Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram Ratchaworawihan or simply Wat Benchamabophit was build in the reign of Rama V in 1899, and is well-known as Marble Temple, made of white Carrara marble from Italy.

It's located in Dusit District of Bangkok, close to the old parliament building (Ananta Samakom Throne Hall) or the Chitralada Villa (part of Dusit Palace , the official residence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej).

The main Buddha statue is a replica of Pra Buddha Chinarat in Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Phitsanulok that is said to be the most beautiful Buddha statue in Thailand, but I didn't enter inside. Too sad ! :D

This fort was built in the reign of Rama I in 1783 to protect Bangkok.
This fort was built in the reign of Rama I in 1783 to protect Bangkok.

It seems that 14 forts were build along the Chao Phraya River but two of them, this fort "Phra Sumen Fort" and "Mahakan Fort", are left.

This area is now a park, " Santichaiprakarn Public Park ", and a relaxing place for the citizens.
Appearance
(I didn't notice that but it still has a cannon of those days.)
The park
(Quite a wide space. Feeling very comfortable.)
Chao Phraya River
(Chao Phraya River is there.
The bridge is " Rama 8 bridge, or Sapan Pra Ram 8.)
Along the river
(You can enjoy a boat trip from here along the canal.)
