Bangkok - Talad Rot Fai (Train market)

There are some night markets in Bangkok. However, this "Talad Rot Fai" is not just a night market but it's very unique that has continued to fascinate visitors, especially young people such as teenagers and university students. So many antique shops open in the area that was used to be a railway station and in the abandoned warehouse.

The market had a lot of shops. You'll see countless unique shops, antiques, just old things, and funny items that make you wondering what they are. :D

This market opens at night on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The market is not old, just started around Aug. in 2010 and the scale is still being expanded. They sell various kinds of antiques. Sounds interesting, right ? My wife's family in Bangkok told me there was a night market where you would find a lot of interesting old things. Wow, we must go anyway !

The market had a lot of shops. It looked like owners came by car with products and just opened their shops. You'll see countless unique shops, antiques, just old things, and funny items that make you wondering what they are. :D

This is the best place to visit for those who are interested in old, unusual or/and funny things. Enjoy Bangkok night !

I visited this market by car. You can go there by MRT (subway) : get off at Kamphaeng Phet station. You'll find other markets around this station, the super famous Jatuchak Market, and Or Tor Kor Market run by the Agricultural Market Organization.

When we visited there around sunset, shops were just opening. The market just started and visitors came one after another. Antique flea market in Bangkok, Talad Rot Fai. Now let's go. :D

Antique night market items
This night market is very popular especially among young people in Bangkok. So many antique shops that you can't count them all open in the area that was used to be a railway station and in the abandoned warehouse. Now, check around out of the warehouse first.
Talking of antiques, you'll come up with clocks.	Old books. It looks like they are from overseas.	Kid's heroes; Ultraman, Woody of Toy Story and so on.

A lot of shops are like this; come by car and just open the shop in front. This shop sells paintings.		A pinball game with "MONOPOLY" and its character (the board game that I played so often long long time ago). To tell you the truth, I wanted it. :D

Some shops sell sofas. How did they carry them here ?	Ninja Hattori-Kun, the Turtle Hermit (Kamesennin) of Dragon Ball and so on.	Kewpie dolls. I'd never seen red and black ones.

The sun completely sank. Lights are lit up all over the market like in a festival. Humid. :D The sun completely sank. Lights are lit up all over the market like in a festival. It was in April, before Songkran festival, around the hottest season in Thailand. Very hot and humid in the market ! No shop had any fans ! Hmmm, I was wondering if there was a limit to use electricity.
Folding bikes (I guess). The cheapest ones were 3,000 Baht, or about 100 dollars.	Car license plates. A lot ! Where are they from ?	A lot of shops line along the street.

You'll see a lot of open-air restaurants. So crowded. :D Have something to eat or drink. Take care of yourself !

Thai food, Pad Thai - Thai fried noodles.	This shop was very popular and we had to wait for a long time in line.
Thai food, Pad Thai - very popular Thai fried noodles. We guessed it was delicious because we saw a lot of people waiting in line. In the end, we had to wait more than 20 minutes on a hot night. After getting back home, we had it and it tasted a little sweet.

The market in the warehouse

After the market outside, let's check the market in the warehouse.
You'll notice there are an American car in old days and big motorcycles, Harley Davidson, around the entrance. Very good atmosphere.

The shop that made me astonished. I tried to make myself calm down, saying to myself like, "It's Thailand ! Everything is Amazing ! :D		Various statues such as King Taksin and Buddhist images that you'll see often in shops and public facilities.

　It was hot but a very exiting market. I want to visit there again someday. ^-^)
