The city and the certificate of arrival !
Photo Gallery of airport and city in Mae Hong Son of Northern Thailand.
Mae Hong Son is about 300 km to the northwest from Chiang Mai, and it's close to the border between Thailand and Myanmar. It will take
about 40 minutes from Chiang Mai by air (if my memory is correct. :D ).I visited Mae Hong Son twice so far (as of 2013). For the first time, I flew to Chiang Mai from Bangkok, then changed to an around 80-seat small airplane.
Mae Hong Son is famous for Long Neck Tribe (Ban Nai Soi, the beautiful temples at the edge of a lake, Wat Chong Kham / What Chong Klang and the temple on top of a mountain, Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu reported on a different page.
Check out the Mae Hong Son top page for other spots.
This page shows the airport, the city and so on.
You can get a certificate of "coming to Mae Hong Son at last !" at Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Mae Hong Son Office showed at the bottom of this page. If you have time, why don't you drop by the office ? :D

[Mae Hong Son] Mae Hong Son Airport |

| I went to Mae Hong Son by air from Bangkok transferred at Chiang Mai for the first time in my life in 2004. I had really wanted to visit here
at least once for a long, long time with high expectation, however, unfortunately,
it was rainy... (It was in the rainy season (it was in August) and not so a lot of tourists.) |

[Mae Hong Son] Scenery of the city |
|||
| For the first time when I visited here, I wanted to go and see around the city to see what the city looked like. However, it was raining really heavily at that time and I was afraid I walked around only a little. For the second time, it was not raining but when I got there, it was already in the evening and almost no time to check around. Hmmm, okay, next time, I'm sure I'll walk around and around. :D |

| A street in the city 1 I thought the city was not so big but when I walked a street, I felt it was kind of a big city. |

| A lot of shops along a street A street near the famous temple, Wat Chong Kham and Wat Chong Klang. A lot of shops are opened. I guess it will be crowded with visitors around here. |
[Mae Hong Son] An old suspension bridge |
|||
| I couldn't find out the precise location of this bridge on the map of Mae
Hong Son but our tour guide took me here. I saw some groups also came to this bridge and enjoyed walking while smiling or twitching their faces with fear. This is maybe one of tourist spots in Mae Hong Son. |
